The moment I stepped out onto the balcony I wanted to buy this house - not just for the view, and the sound of running water but the half acre of garden that adjoins the river Vienne. The house is set on two levels that could easily be split into twin apartments as both benefit from the gorgeous outlook.
On the main level you have an open plan kitchen and a wood floor lounge with space for sofas and a small dining table. The owners have installed fitted kitchen units and there is a fireplace too, although the heating may need upgrading if you wish to spend winters here. The bathroom is new and off a corridor that leads to the large double bedroom. The house is in fact L-shaped (originally two houses) and so the balcony follows the house round on two sides. Stairs lead up to two attic spaces offering extra bedroom space, if required. You can access the ground floor level from outside, down some steps. Here the accommodation is simpler with a shower room, W.C., second bedroom and kitchen area. There are some useful storage rooms here as well and a laundry room near the property’s entrance.
Outside the fully fenced garden, with fruit trees and vines, stretches down to the river. There is a level gravelled eating area near the house, a garden shed and, of course the balcony itself.
The property is five minutes drive from a bakery but for weekly shopping needs the river side market towns of either Lussac or L’Isle Jourdain are under 15 minutes drive away. Poitiers has international train and rail links and is under one hour away by car.
