Animal lovers will really fall for this well renovated stone farmhouse, as not only is there is lots of grazing land available, the owners specialised in showing dogs so there are numerous kennels, pens and a barn for any type of four legged friend or beast you plan to bring with you.
The house will not disappoint bi-peds either. I loved the blend of traditional features with modern comforts such as central heating and the ultimate dust buster, a built in vacuuming system. The farmhouse kitchen is a spacious room with fitted units and a large dining table in front of the log burning stove. The lounge is next to the kitchen with nice exposed stonework and I would probably add another stove here too. The house has a downstairs bathroom and bedroom. Upstairs has been more recently converted and whilst there is a super mezzanine bedroom, a huge landing and a further bedroom, it really needs a second bathroom up here to get that top prize rosette from this judge. Happily, there are lots of options and space to install one.
The outbuildings are all in excellent condition and include the barn with original flagstones and a hangar with ample space for parking and workshop. The animal pens are to the front and side of the property. A second house used to be the grooming parlour but could be transformed into a gîte or guest accommodation. The pool is private and sited behind the house next to a covered terrace. The land is extensive and mainly field.
Brux is a popular village with a bar and shop within walking distance. The market towns of Couhé and Civray are a short drive away. Poitiers is 40 minutes distance with its international air and train links.
