This property is home to a French lady with a flair for colour and her pretty art work and paintings decorate the walls of the house. Whilst the house needs updating, it is comfortable and the fields and countryside nearby have clearly inspired her.
The front door opens into the rectangular living room with working fireplace at one end and original stone sink with a rare traditional oak cupboard door still covering it. The shower room is basic and found in a small extension next to the first of two bedrooms. It would be possible to either extend upwards or sideways into the barn, if more living space needed. The second bedroom is off towards the kitchen, found to the rear of the house. The kitchen, whilst not large, is well fitted and has my favourite feature of the house, sliding glass doors onto a pretty patio area next to a well with a pump. Access to the attic is via a ladder from the barn. There is head room here, if needed.
The barn is attached to the house and divided into sections including a store area and boiler room for the oil fired central heating. The present owners benefit from a well established vegetable plot and the fenced chicken run. There is land on all four sides of the house and car access from either side if you wish to use the barn for covered parking.
The hamlet is five minutes drive from a village with small shop, chemist, and bar. The market towns of Civray and L’Isle Jourdain are both 15 minutes drive away. Poitiers and Limoges have international airports and are about an hour’s drive from the property.
