The present owners were full of ideas for this project and already had obtained building permission and plans for conversion when personal circumstances meant they had to put their dreams on hold. However, this barn sits proudly on a hill overlooking the surrounding countryside waiting for new owners to bring it to life.
The good news is that there is water in place and electric close by. The stone walls all look in good condition, as does the roof and the interior frame work. In has cathedral- like dimensions inside but you only have to convert as much as you want to. The floor inside is cement and there is already large openings if you want to do a floor to ceiling window.
The barn has a tin shelter on one side and a small wood shed adjoining the other. The front façade faces south-west towards the setting sun. The land, mainly rough grass at present, surrounds the house and there is plenty of space for the individual drainage system and a pool.
The property is five minutes drive to a village with a bakery and the historic town of Charroux and Civray are about 15 minutes drive away for weekly shopping. Poitiers has international travel links and is 45 minutes drive away whilst Limoges airport is just over an hours drive.
