This classic French country house is just begging to be updated and become a cosy home. Set on the edge of a popular hamlet, it is structurally sound. With the right skills it could prove a good investment, once the plumbing and electrics have been updated and more bedrooms installed in the attic.
At present, you enter direct into the tiled kitchen with an insert fireplace, the hub of any French home. The bedrooms are also on this floor although once you have converted above you could give yourself a lounge and dining area. The blue tiled bathroom is to the rear and works, but is rather dated. There are exposed beams through out the ground floor. The attic has solid wood floors and accessed from a side workshop area at present. The beams give enough good height and you could have an additional 100 m2 of living space up here.
The house has a useful garage to the rear and the workshop with cement floor to the side. The garden, or rather the land, is mostly lawn and slopes gently away down towards a nearby river valley. It contains the chicken house, seen in the photo, and has a mature hedge line.
The property is less than five minutes drive to a village with shop, baker, bar and restaurant. It is 10 minutes drive to the market towns of Civray and Gencay, both of which have a good range of shops. Poitiers has international travel links and is 45 minutes drive away.
