If you are looking for a renovation project that someone has already begun and you fancy finishing it off, then take a closer look at this. Halfway done but the layout and design still for you to personalise.
The two new French doors mean that both large rooms downstairs are light and airy. There is also an entrance hall with the electric meter and access up to the attics. The house benefits from two large fireplaces one with a wood burning stove, the other open. The accommodation at the far end of the house has yet to be developed but also has a chimney and would be ideal for developing a mezzanine style room and separate staircase upstairs. The shower room and toilet are at present in a temporary room adjacent to the kitchen. The present owner had plans to put the new bathroom upstairs where there is space to install three bedrooms. The roof has been insulated and boarded. Some electric cables have already been run up here. The house does have a working septic tank but this would have to be updated in the future to cope with additional bedrooms and bathrooms.
The house is attached to a neighbour’s house that has been nicely renovated. The garden is mainly grass to the front and has enough space for parking with enough left to easily satisfy those with the greenest of fingers. The view is pleasant and overlooks woods and fields.
The hamlet is situated about ten minutes drive from the market town of Couhé which has a selection of supermarkets, restaurants and small shops. Couhé provides good access to the town of Poitiers, less than 30 minutes drive away. Here, there are international rail and air links back to the UK. © |
