…or as you say in French, that certain “je ne sais quoi” .This pretty home is idyllically located on the edge of a rural hamlet with views over nearby fields. The interior has respected the original features with the additions of modern day comfort. Yet in addition it has something special that makes a house feel like a real home. Not easy to define; you’ll just have to visit here for yourself!
The French windows at the front give you the option of either entering direct into the kitchen with its wood fitted units and work top separating it from the dining area, or you can go into the more formal hallway which opens onto the large lounge. This room is dominated by one of two wood burning stoves in the house. There is also a downstairs shower room and a cellar too. Upstairs, off the long landing are the four bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower and a spacious bathroom. The interior finish is good standard without feeling like a show home
Attached to the house is a barn that has the boiler and plenty of storage space. The land surrounds the house includes a well and has lots of interesting areas such as a veg plot, a wood store area, three terrace areas, productive vines and fruit trees, and landscaped gardens. I almost forgot the beautiful swimming pool to the side of the house - this property really does have it all.
Sauzé Vaussais is 3 kms drive away with a supermarket and bars and restaurants. The historic town of Poitiers offers airport and train links to the UK and is 50 minutes from the property.
