Here’s one for all you renovation bargain hunters out there. This basic, three room cottage shows signs of potentially being an attractive proposition for someone not wanting too big a project. Yes, the roof needs attention, water and electricity connecting, and drainage too, but as they say, you get what you pay for.
The cottage at present offers a total of 63m² of ground floor living space, divided between three rooms, two with a chimney. There is headroom to expand upstairs and also an attached stone barn that could be extended sideways from the existing rooms. Two rooms are 25m² and the third smaller at 12m². This property is not habitable and requires complete renovation. However, structurally the house seems solid and the stonework is excellent quality if the outbuildings are anything to go by.
In front of the house is a grassy courtyard that allows access to the attached single storey buildings. The separate stone hangar is opposite and ideal for use as a garage. There is enough space for a septic tank.
The village is five minutes drive from two villages with small shops. For supermarket shopping and bars and restaurants, Chef Boutonne is fifteen minutes drive away. Poitiers is an hour’s drive away for international train and rail links. © |
