It’s not just the private, sunny courtyard that appealed to me with this property; the price is pretty attractive too. Although in need of a bit of TLC, the house is perfectly habitable in the interim.
The side door enters direct onto a corridor that becomes the kitchen. The tiled living room is a good size with French doors opening outwards and a wood burning stove. The shower room and WC will need updating and are at the rear of the property downstairs though a utility area.. I would prefer to splash out on a bigger bathroom upstairs and just keep the downstairs WC. There are other options including expanding into the barn behind the house or making use of the loft space. At present there are 2 good sized bedrooms upstairs with parquet wood floors.
The outbuildings all have beautiful stonework. The hangar opposite the house has room for at least three cars, and there is the attached barn and a small stone shed for extra storage. The courtyard offers plenty of space to relax or make some raised bed and lawn area.
The house is five minutes drive from the market town of Chef Boutonne. Poitiers and Angouleme are the nearest cities with International airports and TGV links. Poitiers is 50 kms distance.
