This three storey house is in the heart of one of my favourite riverside villages. With two mouth-watering restaurants – one French, one Italian – a range of little shops, and a square with a pavement café culture in the summer months, there is no need to get in the car each time you want to eat, drink, or simply people watch. The house itself would be perfect for a couple – with guest bedrooms – and the courtyard is ideal for a glass of wine at sunset (or a cup of tea, if you prefer).
The ground floor consists of a kitchen with practical cupboard space and a large reception room with fireplace. There is access to the wine cellar from the latter. A staircase leads up to three small double bedrooms, one with its own washroom. There is a second WC incorporated into the shower room. The attic on the second floor is convertible.
Behind the house is an outbuilding with boiler and store rooms. The patio has plenty of space for wining and dining. A large vegetable plot is unattached but is only thirty seconds’ walk up the lane.
Usson du Poitou offers mini-supermarkets, shops, bars, restaurants, park, doctor and dentist and cybercafé. Poitiers is just 30 minutes away for international airport and TGV railway station. © |
