I don’t think so, but this excellently converted farmhouse with its attached second part, currently a Granny flat, but without a Granny, could be a holiday letting ticks most boxes.
Take your choice of entrances, either directly into the “L” shaped kitchen dining room or into the vestibule between the living room and that granny flat. I would choose the kitchen as it is a joy to walk into the house here. A bright wonderful fitted and equipped kitchen - I am sure many a happy evening has been spent at this table enjoying the result of the work done in this cook’s kitchen. To the rear is a useful utility room and beyond that the boiler room (oil fired) cum barn – ripe for conversion. The living room is large, with feature stone fireplace, oak beams and chestnut planked flooring. The granny flat has lounge with fireplace, double bedroom with en-suite shower room and fitted kitchen, large utility room and second toilet. Upstairs there is a large landing/office (could be 4th bedroom), two double bedrooms and a state of the art bathroom. Throughout the house the level of décor is excellent, finished to a high standard with the traditional features retained to good effect. There is the possibility of extending the first floor accommodation if desired. New double glazed windows, shutters and doors have been fitted.
As well as the attached barn, there is an original cottage, untouched attached, a further room with external access, a large barn/garage and an open barn. The gardens are to the front of the house with fruit trees, grass, flower beds, your own well and room for a pool for those who wish it.
The house is in a small hamlet within a very short drive of the market towns of Chef Boutonne or a little further, Melle, where there is a range of shops and facilities and the odd restaurant or two. © |
