The grey façade does not prepare you for the tasteful, bohemian interior of this lovely house, situated in the heart of Melle. Is Melle a village or tiny market town? With a population of just 3,000 I would say a large village yet it has the wide range of commerce usually found in towns.
Entrance is directly into a large living room with attractive wood burner and a spacious dining area. The corner kitchen is open plan with the living space and it has a useful pantry. Downstairs is completed by a bathroom and WC. A staircase leads up to a landing – used as a study – and two large double bedrooms. Part of the attic space is convertible.
The long, narrow garden is to the front of the house and provides plenty of space for outside wining and dining or simply to watch the world go by. There is a garden shed.
Melle offers a wide choice of restaurants, bars, shops, hypermarkets, cinema, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a lively open-air market (Fridays) and Romanesque architecture. © |
