Pieces of constructible land are rarely available so close to the centre of a pretty riverside village (tiny market town). This one has the added benefit of a lovely stone wall, offering both privacy and a built-in traditional feature. It is currently the orchard of the immediate neighbour and therefore has a number of established trees, one of which boasted attractive pink blossom on the day I visited.
There is plenty of space to construct your dream house, in its own readymade walled garden, with the benefit of mains drainage available. The market square is just a two minute walk from the property, as is the popular summer lido and a fabulous restaurant.
Is Civray a village or tiny market town? With a population of just 2,000 I would say village yet it has the wide range of commerce usually found in towns. The riverside setting makes it picturesque and there is a range of shops, bars, restaurants, supermarkets, weekly open-air market, cinema, summer lido, park and a pavement café culture in the summer.© |
