If stunning views are top of your wish list then look no further, as long as you are happy to buy a renovation project. There are two projects, in fact: if the cottage isn’t big enough then there is a cathedral-like barn as well. Location, location, renovation… and choices.
The cottage has not been lived in for some time and, although it has electricity, it does not currently possess a water supply or sanitation system. There are three rooms, two with stone floors, and the largest offering a cement floor. One has a fireplace, perfect perhaps for a farmhouse-style kitchen; the largest would make an attractive living room, leaving a final downstairs room for a bathroom with separate shower cubicle. It would be possible to create a first floor of three bedrooms.
The location is simply stunning, and the attached land includes river frontage down in the valley. The barn is enormous and there are smaller outbuildings as well.
Supermarket shopping is at Civray – fifteen minutes away – which is a small riverside town with bars, restaurants, cinema, DIY stores, summer lido, park and weekly open-air market. © |
