This house has a patio on either side of it so that you can sit and watch the sun rise while eating breakfast and in the evening swap sides to watch the sunset over the hill. In rural French terms, it is a modest sized house. However, with plenty of storage space in the detached barn, a separate cottage for guests, and garden to the front and back, I would describe it as delightful and well balanced!
An entrance hall leads on to a large fitted kitchen with plenty of room for informal dining. Beyond is the spacious living room with access to the back patio. Downstairs is completed by a WC with wash basin. Stairs lead up to a mezzanine, two large double bedrooms, bathroom with WC and storage.
There is a small garden in front of the house and there is a larger garden behind, sloping down to the barn and garage. The views are of surrounding hills. The guest cottage has an open-plan living space with a kitchen. There is a shower room, WC, and staircase up to a bedroom with low beams.
The property is situated in a hamlet surrounded by attractive, undulating countryside. It is less than ten minutes from the little riverside town of Chef Boutonne with a choice of bars, restaurants, supermarkets, schools, cinema, public château, fishing lake, builders’ merchants, weekly open-air market and a pavement café culture in the summer months. © |
