If you fondly remember the popular soap then you might feel at home here. The retired French owner built this property a decade ago and the 360 degree covered patio is strikingly similar to those found in the outback. The views are delightful and the house is very large, if somewhat quirky.
Entrance is directly into the huge open-plan living area. The main feature is a fireplace in the middle of the room, with insert wood burners on both sides, thus warming up the lounge and the dining area at the same time. The kitchen is directly behind the dining space and benefits from a utility room beyond. The corridor is one of the widest I have ever seen and leads off to three double bedrooms, a bathroom and a final, enormous room which is currently used as a home cinema. The carpets and general décor also belong to the outback and need to be updated.
The lawn in front of the property leads to a decorative fish pond and there is a covered patio which enjoys the stunning views. There is a large garage and an attic over the entire property.
Day to day shopping is at nearby Champagne Mouton while Ruffec offers a twice weekly open-air market, a choice of bars and restaurants, cinema, hypermarkets, public swimming baths, hospital, TGV railway station and a pavement café culture. © |
