A stone’s throw from the famous monkey park near Civray, this project is looking for a buyer with the building skills and vision to bring the existing plans to fruition.... And you don’t need to be bananas to take it on as some of the hard work has already been completed.
The stone building is in fact 2 adjoining barns with a hangar on the left (just out of picture). The roof is new, as are the water and electric meters which have the underground feeder pipe in place to connect to the home. The existing plans involve new openings on the far side of the barn overlooking the land and will be make the house completely private. A living room of 77m2 with a chimney and a kitchen opening onto the garden are just two of the ideas from the plans. The beauty of this project is that it comes with plenty of land which equates well with the size of the property. Much of the land is rather overgrown and also at least half is at present woodland. A gravel driveway has already been laid and the large hangar offers plenty of covered parking space.
The barn is situated in a small hamlet about 5 minutes drive from a village with bar, restaurant and shop. The market towns of Civray and Gencay offer more consumer choice about 15 minutes away. Poitiers is the nearest airport and is also well served by TGV links to Paris. © |
