A very beautiful home surrounded by its own land. This is a house to fall in love with and worthy of the hackneyed phrase “must visit”. It really ticks all the boxes of an ideal property. Name a “feature” and you will find it here, and some you had not thought of. The main house is lovely with fully fitted kitchen with vaulted ceiling, store and utility rooms, a conservatory dining room which makes eating in the garden a year round option; a 76²m living room, with galleried landing, huge stone fireplace, large oak beams; four double bedrooms (one of which is on the ground floor with en-suite shower room), and a pink family bathroom (there has to be some negatives!). There is under floor central heating – oil fired.
In the grounds, and away from the main house is a cottage with its own garden and built into the barn two further gîtes. All three properties are in excellent condition; the cottage has central heating and provides income to the current owners from medium term lets. The furniture and fittings in these three properties are included in the price of the sale.
The grounds are extensive and are mainly down to grass and trees. The river runs through the land and is far enough away from the house not to create a flooding risk. It is a river to sit beside; I was fascinated by the water-boatman moving in the dappled sunlight the day I visited. The heated swimming pool is tiled. The price would be negotiable for less land than the 15 hectares.
Despite its seclusion the property is a 1km footpath walk to the small village of Voulon with its bar and small shops. Couhé and Vivonne, riverside market towns are under 10 kms away. It is 25 minutes to the city of Poitiers with its international airport and TGV railway station. © |
