Looking for a bolt hole in a typical French market town ? Here all the shops and bars are within a few minutes walk yet this little gem is tucked away in a quiet side street near the river Charente. The house is ready to move straight into and is ideal for a holiday home or a single house hunter.
The steps from the street go up into the living room with its traditional fireplace and tiled floors. To the rear of the house is the attractive fitted kitchen with the bathroom and large shower off to the right. Steps lead up and out from the rear kitchen door onto a level garden. Upstairs is accessed by a tiled staircase from the living room. Here is the large roof space which is the property’s only bedroom. The roof is sloping so not ideal for the very tall but it does also offer lots of useful storage space under the eaves.
The house comes with a small storage shed attached to the rear. The garden is divided into two sections and is easy to maintain whilst offering enough space and privacy to sit and dine outdoors.
Civray has two weekly markets and a good selection of shops and bars. It boasts a cinema, swimming pool, a famous Romanesque period church and of course the lovely river Charente flowing near through its heart. Poitiers with its air and train links is 45 minutes drive away. © |
