A popular request we receive from house-hunters is for a property in a village with a thriving bar/restaurant and artisan baker. This house is opposite the boulangerie which makes fantastic croissants and is one road from the bar/restaurant with its summertime riverside patio. The house itself was built in stone in the 1960s; it has a quirky interior style which you will either love or hate.
The kitchen, dining room and two of the bedrooms are on the first floor, accessed by either an internal or two external staircases. The kitchen has room for a table and its own lounge area. The living room itself is spacious and is directly below the dining room. There is a first floor WC but both the bathroom and shower room are on the ground floor, the shower room forming part of a guest suite on the left of the main picture. There is a workshop and two offices in this labyrinthine home.
A large first floor patio offers views of the village, while the under-developed back garden backs onto the river. There is covered parking for three vehicles.
There is the well-established bar/restaurant, baker, post office and, believe it or not, a fish and chip shop, in the village. The market towns of Civray and Ruffec are both 10-15 minutes drive and have all necessary everyday commerce including open-air markets, restaurants, hypermarkets and typical summer pavement café culture.
