Set back from the lane, this is a distinctive, unique property, sensitively renovated by the owner. My favourite feature is a baronial staircase, something you normally associate with a chateau. If you need a project then there is a cottage in need of restoration but crammed with original features.
The first thing you see on entering the hall is that magnificent stone staircase; downstairs there is a large living room with a wonderful main beam, fireplace and French windows out to the garden. The dining room also has doors to the outside and is wonderfully light. The fitted kitchen is large enough to eat in and benefits from a separate utility room. The un-restored cottage consists of a large ground floor room with stone floor and fireplace, an equally spacious first floor room, plus an attic. It would certainly make a two bed guest house. The area in front and to the side of the property is paved and forms a courtyard effect with the outbuildings. The large garden, behind the property, is walled and laid to lawn with countryside views. The open barn has attractive beams; a stone shed offers useful storage space.
The sleepy hamlet is ten minutes drive from the little town of Lezay, famous for its weekly market, one of the largest of its kind in Europe. Lezay also offers bars, restaurants, shops, banks, supermarket, cinema, park, summer lido and tennis courts.
