These two little cottages sit at the top of the village with views over the roof tops and across to the old abbey tower. Inside, the accommodation is very basic, but with water, electricity and mains drains connected - plus a roof that’s in good condition - this is an achievable project.

The main door leads into an 18m2 living room that is partially divided into a kitchen and sitting area by a large arch. There is an original fireplace, a sink and a few cupboards. Partitioned off is a toilet then there are stairs up to a landing and a double bedroom with beams. The stairs continue up to the attic which is partially convertible. Next to the house and separated by a private alleyway to the back garden and second cottage, is the garage. Charroux has a choice of bars, restaurants, bakeries, a chemist, doctors, tobacconists and a grocery. For supermarket shopping, the hypermarket at Savigné is only 8kms away. If you are looking for city shopping and the international airport at Poitiers, you have a journey of about 1 hour. ©
