The
mill house provides comfortable owner accommodation plus two en-suite
rooms for B&B. A stable has been beautifully converted into a four bedroomed
gîte whilst the mill PART has been converted into a three bedroomed
gîte. You can buy this property with or without the actual water mill. See PC2671 and PC2672 for more details.
I entered the large traditional living room with its beams and corner fireplace. Through into the kitchen, there are fitted units and room for a dining table. The stairs lead up to a landing and the owners’ bedroom and bathroom. A door leads through to a small sitting room with the doors to the B&B bedrooms which each have their own modern shower rooms. The kitchen also has a door to the utility room and toilet plus access into the unconverted part of the barn currently used as a garage. There is a cupboard for the electrics for the turbine which used to supply free electricity, however, the turbine itself needs replacing. There is new electric in the house, new windows and a new roof.
The gîte in the stable has a living room, dining room, toilet and fitted
kitchen on the ground floor and two bathrooms and four large bedrooms
upstairs. The other gîte is in the old mill and has a living room, kitchen,
shower room and toilet downstairs, whilst upstairs are two large bedrooms
and one small plus a bathroom and toilet. Obviously, the property is by
a river but river control means there is no danger of flooding. There
is a well kept lawn and patio areas plus extra grazing land.
The house is secluded with no close neighbours yet two villages with a
shop and a bar in each are only 3kms away. The pretty town of Confolens
is 12kms away and has shops and supermarkets etc. © |
