The days of ambitious restoration projects may be numbered, but this one is more than half done. The end result would not be a mansion, but would make a perfect small holiday home, and there is potential for expansion.
The right hand house comprises a large living room with a wood-burning stove, kitchen area with a sink unit and a shower room with wc. Upstairs is a large bedroom which could easily be made into two. Water, electricity and drainage are connected and the roof is good. The left hand house is all to do, one downstairs room with the original fireplace and an attic area not currently accessible. Attached to the rear is the remains of an outbuilding which could become a kitchen or just an extra room. The roof of this house does need attention.
At the current asking price there is 1000 square metres of attached land, but more can be negotiated.
The house is in a small hamlet in one of the loveliest parts of the Limousin, much appreciated by the Impressionist painters. The nearest commerce is in Crozant, with a grocer’s shop, post office and bar/restaurant, and the nearest supermarkets and main commerce are about 20 minutes away in Eguzon, which also has a popular leisure lake. The North-South A20 motorway is about 20 minutes drive, via which in a further hour is the city of Limoges, famous for its porcelain, and its airport has daily services between France and the UK as well as to Lyon and Paris.© |
