This is just the ticket for a holiday home/gîte, no need to pack gardening or decorating materials, just come straight over and enjoy the holiday. It has been fully renovated to a high standard, with many traditional features retained, and is very reasonably priced in the current market.
The front door opens into a central corridor with to the immediate left a kitchen/dining room with a fireplace and a wood-burning stove. To the right is a lounge with wood-burning stove and exposed stone walls. At the end of the corridor is a second lounge/dining room and to the right of this a bedroom with en suite bathroom and wc. Stairs from the former lead up to two large bedrooms (approximately 22m² and 20m²), one with en suite shower and wc.
Attached to the house is a stone storage shed and there is a cellar accessed from the front outside. Parking is in the village square opposite.
The village has no amenities but it is only a short drive to the picturesque market town of St Benoît du Sault, which has a supermarket, banks, bar/restaurants, doctors, dentist and most commercial needs. The city of Limoges, famous for its porcelain, is about an hour’s drive, and its airport has daily services between France and the UK as well as to Lyon and Paris. Poitiers airport, with similar services, is about 90 minutes away. © |
