This house is a bit of an oddity, as the main accommodation and the garden are on the first floor level. With no garage and only a tiny garden it may not be everybody’s cup of tea, but as a holiday home it is ideally situated and very reasonably priced for its location.
You have to stoop a little to get through the front door, where you find yourself in a stone-floored lounge with fireplace and exposed beams. To the left is a shower room with WC. At the far end is the door to a spacious cellar/storage room. Upstairs are a second L-shaped lounge with wood-burning stove, and a roomy fitted kitchen cum dining room. Currently the only bedroom is off to the right, and there is also a second wc on this level. A staircase from the lounge leads up to a spacious attic with ample scope for another bedroom. Out from the rear of the kitchen is the garden with a tool shed at the far end.
The house is in a small market town with all essential commerce and is conveniently placed within an hour’s drive of Poitiers or Limoges airports, both of which have daily services between France and the UK. The larger towns of Bellac and La Souterraine, and the A20 motorway, are about twenty minutes’ drive.© |
