If you remember the Shadows’ hit of the title it’s time like me that you retired to one of the most beautiful and peaceful areas of France. This exceptional property, set in 7 acres of grounds with a babbling brook running through (the grounds not the house), is certainly one of the most wonderful settings I have seen in this area.
The main house has a spacious lounge with tiled floor and a wood burning insert fireplace. To the left is a fitted kitchen with a pantry and separate wc to the rear. On the first floor are three bedrooms and a bathroom with a second wc. The spacious attic area can currently only be reached via an outside staircase but internal access would be possible. Electric radiators supplement if necessary the heating from the fire and the house is tastefully decorated and renovated throughout.
The barn to the right is currently used as a workshop and stables at ground level but work has started on converting the upper floor into living accommodation. Behind this are a separate garage and an aviary. The beautifully tended extensive grounds have mature trees, bushes and shrubs.
Shopping facilities are within easy reach and Limoges airport is about an hour’s drive, with daily services between France and the UK as well as to Lyon and Paris. © |
