Rather aptly it was a beautiful spring day when I visited this lovely, well presented house which not only has it’s own spring (source) but has lots of potential too, both inside and out. As you pull into the large private driveway you are presented with a huge open barn and a very neatly kept, mature front garden. What immediately sprung to mind (sorry!) was that this is a property that has order and space.
This is reflected internally, with the rooms neatly set out and spacious. An old wooden staircase greets you in the tiled entrance hall and the ground floor offers a large kitchen to the right and a spacious split level dining room/lounge to the left. Climb the staircase and the doors from the hallway reveal 3 bedrooms, a large bathroom and a further staircase. This leads to an enormous attic with original oak beams, wooden flooring and stone walls which could provide at least 2 further ensuite bedrooms or a stunning workshop/office space.
To the rear of the ground floor there is a shower room and a large workshop/cellar room leading to the large open barn. But it is the gardens which offer huge potential. To the rear, climb the pathway up to over half an acre of garden that has stunning views across the village and sun all day. Perfect for a new terrace and barbeque which will allow you to really soak up that sunshine in all the seasons!
Located in a village just 5 mins walk from local shops and schools and under 10 mins drive from the larger historic town of St Maixent L’École. Easy access to rail and autoroutes and within 1 hr of Poitiers & La Rochelle. © |
