Our office in La Rochefoucauld is situated almost in the centre of the beautiful Charente region. It is an area of rivers and lakes, lush green woodland, and rolling hills. It is also an area of great historic interest with many lovely old chateaux, churches and watermills. There are many delightful towns and villages, and the locals give a warm welcome to new residents from the UK. The major city, Angouleme has much to offer in the way of shops, restaurants and beautiful architecture. With its TGV link, one can be in Paris within two and a half hours, and the small airport is soon to open to low cost flights from the UK.

The winters are short and the summers long, with average temperatures of around 30 degrees centigrade in summer. There's a lot to see and do in the area, such as canoeing, fishing, hiking, horse riding and golfing. Or you may be happy just sipping a glass of wine in the sunshine outside one of our many splendid restaurants, and watching the world go by.
