This pretty house has lots of lovely traditional features. Exposed stone walls and beams and polished wooden floors. At this price, it would be ideal as a holiday home, but it’s large enough to be a permanent family home too.
The central front door opens onto a hallway with a small dining room to one side. On the other side of the hall is a traditionally French style kitchen, with a lovely old butler’s sink. The large lounge is at the rear of the house and has French doors opening onto the garden. There is an old fireplace and a new open staircase in stone. Also off the hall are a utility area, a bathroom and a separate toilet. Upstairs the four bedrooms are all doubles, and there would space for an en-suite shower room in the largest. A second staircase leads to a large attic space. There is a low beam in the centre but you could still fit in several more rooms if you needed them.
The road in front of the house leads only to the other properties in the hamlet, so there is little passing traffic. The garden to the rear of the property overlooks open countryside. A small lane at the side of the house leads to a large barn which would be a useful workshop/garage and storage area.
Though the house is situated in the countryside, it is less than a kilometre from the large village of Montemboeuf, where there are small shops, a mini-supermarket, school, swimming pool, dentist and chemist. © |
