When I was given directions to this property I was told to look for the round wall, and sure enough, one corner of the building is actually round, it would make a rather interesting feature internally.
The front door opens straight onto a very large lounge, with a beamed ceiling and an insert fireplace. The floor is concrete, and easy to tile. Next to the lounge is a kitchen which has cupboards and a sink, but does need updating. A small lobby off the other side of the lounge opens onto a shower room and toilet. Next is a hallway with that curved wall, and a brand new staircase which leads to a large landing which could be converted into a second bedroom and bathroom. Off the landing is a very large bedroom, so large in fact, that at present it accommodates two double beds, a single, and two wardrobes.
The attached barn can be accessed from the hall, and more living space could be created here if necessary. There is a small triangular lawn to the rear of the house, and the main garden, though not attached is directly opposite the house.
The property is situated in a quite hamlet only a few minutes drive from the small town of Bouex, where there is some small commerce. The region’s capital Angouleme is less than 30 minutes away. © |
