We are often asked for properties which are within walking distance from the shops, especially the boulangerie. This town house certainly fits the bill; you could pop next door to the baker’s whilst still in your dressing gown, the locals do. The house does need updating but is habitable and has a lot of plus points for a property in this price range. As well as being close to the shops, it has mains drainage and town gas central heating.
The front door opens straight on to the kitchen, which at present boasts only a sink, though it has the original terracotta tiles and a lovely old staircase. Next to this is the lounge which has a lovely polished wood floor. Off the lounge are a small room which could be used as a utility area, and a shower room. The back door opens onto a very tiny courtyard, just big enough for a table and chairs. Upstairs are three bedrooms, one with an en-suite toilet and hand basin. You have to go through one bedroom to get to the next at present, so it would probably need a little re-arranging. It could become two big bedrooms and a bathroom, and the large loft space could be utilised if more rooms were required.
Chasseneuil is a busy market town with shops, supermarkets and restaurants. There is a railway link to Angouleme or Limoges, and the new airport at Angouleme is only about 30 minutes away by car.© |
