This typical French style house sits on a hillside overlooking the pretty village of Cellefrouin. Though secluded, it is only a five minute walk to the village. At present it is used as a holiday home and could use a little updating, but it is perfectly habitable as it is.
Steps lead up to the front door which opens onto an entrance lobby and hall. Off the hall is a kitchen/ dining room, with a corner fireplace and French windows to the balcony, perfect for outdoor dining. The lounge has doors to the balcony too, as well as huge windows in one corner, taking advantage of the views. There are three big bedrooms all with lovely polished wood floors, a shower room and a toilet. The basement is enormous and offers lots of possibilities to extend. There is a garage, workshop, boiler room, and a room which is presently used as an artist’s studio. There is a glass walled room under the balcony which would make a lovely garden room.
The garden surrounds the property and is not too big to look after if you are not in permanent residence, though there is a second small garden across the lane where you could grow your vegetables.
Cellefrouin is a pretty village, with a grocery and tea room, a bar restaurant and a post office. The larger town of Chasseneuil sur Bonnieure is about 15minutes away and the airport at Angouleme 45 minutes. © |
