Turn into this sleepy little hamlet, and at the end of the lane is what looks like a tiny terraced cottage. Once inside however, you will be surprised at the amount of space.
The front door opens straight off the lane into a smart kitchen /dining room with bespoke units. There is a lovely old stone fireplace, and space for a dining table. Glazed doors lead to a lounge with polished wood floor, and from here French windows open onto a small sun lounge. Off the kitchen a lobby leads to the bathroom, with bath and shower, and a separate toilet. The attached barn can also be accessed from the lobby. An open staircase leads to two big bedrooms both of which have fitted wardrobes. There is enough space left over to create a second bathroom.
There barn is as large as the house and it would be possible to extend the living space, it has a large hay loft which gives access to the loft of the house which is also convertible. There is a utility room too in the barn, as well as the boiler room. At the rear of the barn is an open hangar with a bread oven, this would make a super outside dining area. The garden at the rear and side of the house has mature trees and shrubs, and lovely views across the countryside. Across the lane is a second piece of land and a car parking space.
Situated in lovely rolling countryside, the hamlet is about 2kms from the small town of Montemboeuf, where you will find a doctor, dentist, and some small commerce. The larger town of La Rochefoucauld is about 15 minutes away. © |
