I think this property is very pretty on the outside, but it’s a little disappointing inside. Having said that, there is lots of scope and it wouldn’t be too much work to re-arrange the living space and bring it up to date.
The front door opens from the shady veranda onto a large living/kitchen with an old stone fireplace. On one side of the kitchen are two bedrooms, and on the other side is a bathroom, which leads to a small hall with a door to the garden, and a third bedroom. At the end of the hall are a boiler room and a toilet. Outside, a stone staircase leads to a lovely big loft, with space for two bedrooms and a bathroom. Another loft above the boiler room could be turned into a third bedroom, freeing up those downstairs rooms for more living space.
The garden is all to the front of the property and has views over open countryside. Attached to the side of the house are two small outhouses and a large barn.
The property is situated in a small hamlet only about 2kms from Montemboeuf, where there is a small supermarket, butcher, baker, doctor and a bar/tabac. The larger towns of La Rochefoucauld and Chasseneuil are only about a ten minute drive away. © |
