The good, pretty location overlooking swimming and fishing lake, big garden, and space to expand. The bad, needs total overhaul, including new kitchen and bathroom. The ugly, well, just look at the pictures. Having said all of that, it’s a good price for the space and the location, and someone with good DIY skills could make a real silk purse from this sow’s ear.
The front door opens onto anopen plan living/dining room with an old stone fireplace and a beamed ceiling. Off this room are a large kitchen and a bathroom. An open staircase leads to four double bedrooms with the original wood flooring. There is a low beam on the landing, but it is not difficult to negotiate, and there is space to create a second bathroom on this floor.
The outside of the property is not pretty, but new windows and shutters and new rendering would work miracles. The large attached barn could be incorporated into the accommodation if more space were needed. There is also a detached garage and a couple of outbuildings, but they are not in good condition and I think I would be inclined to demolish the lot.
The property is situated in a tiny hamlet within walking distance of the lake. The market town of Roumazieres is less than five minutes away, and here you will find shops, supermarkets, schools, banks etc., as well as a railway link with Limoges and Angouleme. © |
