This semi-detached property has its ups and downs. On the up side it’s in good condition, has central heating, is within walking distance of the baker and small shops, and has quite a large garden. On the down side it needs a new kitchen and bathroom, but at this price that’s not a big problem. There are ups and downs architecturally too, the layout is that of a bungalow, but it has a large basement and the garden is on two levels.
The main door opens off a small balcony into an entrance hall. On one side is a light and airy kitchen with French windows out to the small terrace at the front of the house. Next is a lounge dining room with a lovely polished wood floor. This room also has French windows to the terrace, and a corner fireplace. There are two double bedrooms, a shower room and a separate toilet. Downstairs in the sous-sol (basement), there is a garage, lots of storage space, and a small room which has obviously been used as a workshop by the previous owner, but could become a study.
The garden is overgrown but could be made very pretty. The downside here is that it is not very private as the property is by the road. However some hedging could do wonders.
Pranzac is a lively village with some small commerce. The region’s capital, Angouleme is less than 30 minutes away.© |
