This property has been empty for some time, and when I first visited it certainly gave me a scare. A bedroom window had been left open and behind the shutter was a large hornet’s nest. Needless to say, I buzzed off pretty quickly. The owner called in the fire brigade and the hornets were evicted, so all is safe now. The property is habitable, and has central heating, but needs updating.
The accommodation consists of a large kitchen with an old fireplace. Next to this is a second kitchen, which could be used as a utility room. There is a surprisingly smart shower room on the ground floor, it’s fully tiled and has twin wash basins. There is a separate toilet, a ground floor bedroom and a lounge with an open staircase leading to a large mezzanine bedroom. This in turn opens onto the other three bedrooms. A second staircase leads back down to the kitchen.
There is a small courtyard in front of the house, and a large garden with open views to the rear. Across the courtyard, sitting at right angles to the house are a large barn and a garage.
The property is situated at the side of a road, about 10kms from the pretty market town of La Rochefoucauld where you will find shops, supermarkets and restaurants. In 30 minutes you can be in Angouleme, with its new airport and TGV link. © |
