This traditional French pavillon is ideally situated. It’s secluded, overlooking open countryside, but only a couple of minutes from the shops. Apart from décor, there is not much work to do, and if you want to expand there is an enormous basement with lots of possibilities.
Off the entrance hall is the kitchen which is fitted with oak units. A small room next to the kitchen is presently used as an ironing room but could be used as a study or extra bedroom. A door from here leads to the L shaped lounge dining room, which has an insert fireplace and French doors out to the terrace. There is also access to this room from the hall. Further along the hall is a toilet, a bathroom and three bedrooms. The master bedroom has an en-suite with hand basin and one of those very short French baths. There is access from the hall down to the basement where the owners have created, a wine cellar, boiler room, and gym, and there is still a lot of space to spare.
The garden is landscaped with lots of mature trees as well as a small pond. There is a large field behind the house if you fancy keeping a pony. Though there is a car port and garage under the house, there is also a separate garage at the end of the drive.
Roumazieres is a busy market town with two supermarkets. There is a daily train service to Angouleme and Limoges. © |
