The present owner of this house is a typical country woman, almost self sufficient. She raises chickens, pigs and rabbits, grows her own vegetables and makes her own jam. It is all getting a bit too much for her now and she is looking for something smaller. If you fancy taking over and trying out the good life, this could be for you, there’s even enough land for your own sheep. The house is habitable but does need updating.
From the small courtyard in front of the house a door opens onto a small kitchen. Next is the dining room which has a cosy wood burner. From here we cross an entrance hall from the main front door to a large sitting room with an insert fireplace and exposed stone. Next is a bedroom, and at the end of the house, the bathroom and toilet. A second bedroom has been created in the loft space, and there is space for at least two more and another bathroom.
Both the large attached barn and the house have recently been re-roofed. There are two more barns behind the house, several pigsties, and across the lane is a little old house to restore, which has its own little garden. As well as the courtyard in front of the property, there is a large vegetable garden to the rear and the rest of the land is to the side of the property.
The house is situated in a tiny hamlet about 4kms from Champagne Mouton, where there is a small supermarket, pharmacy, doctor, hotel restaurant, and other small shops. © |
