If I had a hammer I would knock down a couple of walls and hey presto, a lovely town house with three bedrooms.
The front door opens straight onto a small lounge, next to this is a tiny room with a marble fireplace. The partition wall between these two rooms would be the first to go, making a nice lounge the full width of the house. The kitchen is at the back of the house and at present all it has is a sink unit. French doors lead from here to the small south facing balcony. There is no garden but the balcony could be made attractive with potted plants, and a table and chairs, so you could have somewhere to enjoy a glass of wine in the sunshine. Off the small lobby by the kitchen are a lovely curved staircase, a toilet, and access to the cellar. There are two bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor, though access to the second bedroom is via the first, this would be the next wall to go under my hammer. This floor could then consist of a large bedroom with fireplace and an en-suite bathroom. The top floor has lovely views across the rooftops to the surrounding countryside. There are three more bedrooms up here, and the smallest could be converted into a second bathroom.
The house is situated in a small town, (or a large village, I’m not sure which). There are two cafes, a swimming pool, and small shops. The larger towns of La Rochefoucauld and Chasseneuil are only a 10 minute drive away.© |
