This house would be ideal as a holiday base for exploring this lovely region. It doesn’t need a lot of work, there is no garden to worry about, and there is room to expand if you want to
The entrance at the side of the house opens straight onto the kitchen/dining room. There is an open fireplace with a wood burning stove in the dining area, which is separated from the kitchen by a wall of useful cupboards. Next to the dining room is the lounge, which like the rest of the house has new double glazed windows with a ten year guarantee. A hall off the kitchen leads to a toilet, which, rather oddly, gives access to the large cellar. A lovely old staircase winds up to the first floor where there is a bathroom, and three double bedrooms, all with lovely old polished wood floors. The staircase carries on up to the large attic, where it would be possible to create even more rooms.
The small courtyard at the side of the house could accommodate the car, but I would be inclined to make a pretty patio to relax in, and park the car in the small car park opposite.
The village boasts a couple of cafes, swimming pool, small supermarket, butcher, baker, pharmacy etc., and is only a short drive from fishing and boating lakes, and an excellent golf course. © |
