This property would be an ideal purchase for two families, it comprises of a lovely old Charentaise house and a barn conversion. The barn conversion needs no work at all, and the old house just needs a little TLC.

I started my tour in the smaller property, the old barn. The entrance is straight into the fitted kitchen. Off this room are a pantry and a downstairs toilet. Next is a huge lounge/dining room with open fireplace and patio doors to the courtyard. An open staircase leads to a mezzanine landing and two bedrooms, a study, a laundry room, bathroom with corner bath and shower and a second toilet. It’s not just a pool however, there is a well stocked bar, and covered patio for al fresco dining, and a sauna. The land stretches out beyond, with views of the surrounding countryside. A second, modern metal barn is a useful home for the lawn mower and the wood. There is a second entrance gate at the end of the garden.

The houses are situated in a small village, with a boulangerie and a bar/restaurant within walking distance. The pretty riverside town of Mansle is about 10 kms away, and there you will find shops and supermarkets. The capital city of the region Angouleme is a 30 minute drive away. ©
