This property has a state of the art heating system which is also an air conditioning unit for summer. Apparently it’s very economical to run. A lot of very good work has been done up to now, but you can carry on improving and enlarging if you wish.
A tiled entrance lobby with a lovely old staircase leads to a large lounge with fireplace, exposed stone and beams. Next is the kitchen/dining room where modern units blend well with the old features. French doors open onto the patio. A hall leads from the kitchen to the bathroom, which needs to be updated. An ancient door in the lounge leads to an old bread oven which could be added to the accommodation. On the other side of the entrance hall are a study with an old fireplace, and a bedroom. Upstairs are two double bedrooms and a huge bed sitting room.
Attached to the house are two huge barns, both in an excellent state of repair. On the opposite side of the courtyard work has been started on a gite. The ground floor rooms are to finish but the first floor consists at present of an enormous games room. There is a walled courtyard in front of the property, and the garden surrounds the rest.
The house is situated at the edge of a small village. Though there is no commerce in the village, the pretty market town of La Rochefoucauld is a five minute drive away. © |
