There are French windows opening onto the terrace to enjoy summer meals and evening drinks and a lovely garden for those wonderful sunny days but if your are bored with the sunshine, it’s just too hot or even one of those rainy days sit back and enjoy the home cinema in the basement.
Built in traditional style, there is as much of the house below the ground as above. An entrance hall leads through to a well-designed kitchen with a touch of luxury plus a back kitchen that also serves as a cloakroom. There is access to the terrace from the dining room and also from the bright living room with its marble floor and fireplace. The sitting room has patio door leading out to the terrace. The three bedrooms are all on this level and have fitted cupboards. The bathroom is well equipped and has both bath and shower. The home cinema in the basement also has a marble floor and access to the garden. On the lower level, too, are a storeroom, wine cellar, boiler room and garages.
The house is approached through an avenue bordered by trees and well-stocked flowerbeds. The garden is pretty and private and is enclosed by a hedge.
The house is situated in a residential area of similar properties in the south of the Burgundy region. The town of Chauffailles is nearby and there are shops, schools and a railway station. The city of Lyon is about an hour away. © |
