Our office is situated in the centre of the lively town of La Rochefoucauld, in the middle of the beautiful Charente region, which is dominated by its beautiful chateau.
The area is lush and green, with rolling hills and beautiful forests. Many of our properties have superb views. In the valley of the Tardoire are many chateaux and mills, some of which sell flour or oils, ground or pressed in the traditional way.
Angouleme, which is a twenty minute drive from the office, has a lively, full programme of cultural events, and every evening the city is magnificently lit up. I think this is a very special place to live, and I’m sure you will too.
This area, known locally as the Horte and Tardoire, is situated in the east of the region, close to the border with the Dordogne.
It is about an hours drive from the airport at Limoges and about 2 ½ hours from Poitiers. Angouleme, the capital of the region, is soon to open its airport to low cost flights from Stansted, making the area even more accessible to visitors from the UK.
